El Mercurio: “Chileans associates with a Text Messaging Spanish Company”

Sit Mobile, the Barcelona based company that supplies communication to mobile phones services, has associated to entrepreneur Chileans to begin their expansion plan through Latin America.  Therefore, their India developed technology will arrive to Chile, allowing that institutions and companies to give mobility to their information system in order to communicate with their workers or improve the relationship with their customers.
Enrique Melkonian, Alex Jankelevich y Ricardo Améstica provided 50% of the capital that will allow  to reproduce the business at the local market. This way, they became associates of this company, that in 2007 earned 9,3 Millions USD.  “ The choice of Chile as Headquarters in South America is based mainly on the country’s political and macro-economical stability, the high demand of cell-phone related services and, above all, because of the associates level”, Marc Bonavia commented, founder and Marketing Manager, in his visit to the country.

Así se transformaron en socios de la empresa, que facturó US$ 9,3 millones en 2007. “La elección de Chile como headquarter en Sudamérica se basa principalmente en la estabilidad política y macroeconómica del país, la alta penetración del celular y, sobre todo, por el nivel de socios encontrado”, comentó Marc Bonavía, fundador y gerente de marketing, en su visita al país.

SitMobile presents the City Sensor at “Innovative Cities for the Next Generation – ICING” final event

The day will start with an introduction and explanation of what is the ICING platform and the benefits it can provide to the cities usin it. Following, several demos will be conducted, as well as in-depth explanations of the integration process of new cities to the platform. The event will also focus on the commercial and institutional partners of the project, analysing in a debate how the ICING platform will be exploited and disseminated to other cities.

Spanish newstands launch the largest marketing mobile network

Spaniards have created an interactive urban TV Channel. Cell phone users will be able to download games, music and discount coupons.

Barcelona newstand owners will be on the news. They have created their own interactive TV Channel, installing devices in each newstand, according to a news release published in Cinco Días. The idea came from Hermes Publicidad and the Professional Association of Newspaper Vendors of Barcelona. The official launching will take place on February 28th. This marketing action will help them attract new customers, at a time when sales have been dropping because of online news.

eGovernment Mobile Services workshop at Barcelona Activa with SitMobile

Marc Bonavia from SitMobile presents the case of “SMS & Proximity Marketing” at the Government.
The objective of the workshop is to learn from successful experiences in designing, developing and deploying innovative eGovernment services for municipalities based on mobile phones.

A number of relevant cases, all of them based on real experiences in the design and setting-up of services, will be presented to become the basis of the discussion and exchange of experiences. However, the workshop is organised to give all participants an opportunity to present their cases, projects and initiatives.

The workshop is addressed to practitioners involved in the conceptualisation, design, development, testing and operations of public municipalities services and eGovernment solutions over mobile phones. Practitioners may hold positions such as project management, technical coordination, senior technicians and administrators and may come from the public administrations, industry or academia.

The seminar is promoted by the ICiNG (FP6) and P2P Mayor Events (e-TEN) consortiums and is open to other projects and initiatives
